Frequently Asked Questions

Lead-based paint was commonly used in New Zealand homes built before the mid-1980s. If your property was built or repainted before then, there’s a good chance some layers may contain lead. A professional assessment is the only way to confirm this safely.

It’s not recommended. Improper collection can cause lead dust to spread, increasing health risks. Our qualified consultants follow strict safety procedures and use specialist equipment to ensure samples are collected safely.

Not always. If the paint is in good condition and not flaking or being disturbed, it may be safer to manage or encapsulate it rather than remove it. Your report will clearly outline the safest and most compliant options for your situation.

No. We can also test dust and soil samples if contamination is suspected for example, in outdoor play areas, window sills, or near older exterior walls. Extra charges apply

If you’re planning renovation, repainting, or demolition work especially in older buildings, you should have a lead assessment completed before any surface preparation or disturbance begins.
